A reader asks, “How does hypnotherapy work? Can it help my friend quit smoking?” Here’s what Dr. Sohail Ebady has to say.
The practice of yoga combined with hypnotherapy, despite its many benefits, has not been made popular yet. Patanjali Institute is one of the few in the world who offers this through its 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and Hypnotherapy Training course. We have a series to help people understand the combination of yoga and hypnotherapy better or discuss yoga questions in general: Ask a Yoga Teacher. For this post, we will answer the question of Sarah Martin from London, UK:
I want to learn to teach yoga but I also need a recreational holiday and spiritual growth. Is that something I can expect from your course too?
Dr. Sohail Ebady, the founder of Patanjali Institute and also a practicing yoga teacher and hypnotherapist for more than 20 years, gives his answer:
Of course it is!
The knowledge and wisdom is already inside you; for spiritual growth, “work” is not required, you have to just let go and be, which are the principles you learn in our program. Attending the course is the perfect opportunity to gain spiritual growth and a start a journey towards your Inner-Self.
By practicing Yoga and Self-Hypnosis in our course, you will also learn how to free yourself from stress. Any student who’s suffering from stress will benefit personally from the training.
Most importantly, students become adequately trained after going through our program. After successful completion of the course, they will be able to teach yoga, conduct self-hypnosis workshops for stress management, and give private or group hypnotherapy sessions to address a wide range of stress-related psychological and psychosomatic ailments and help those who wish to stop self-destructive habits like smoking, overeating, among many others.
To have more information about our program, please take a look at our 2014 schedule. As you can see, there are several hours per day devoted to meditative swimming, walking meditation, or tuning in with nature. It is a kind of Yoga Retreat in Thailand and Bali, in combination with yoga teacher training and accredited by the Yoga Alliance International.
To top it all off, you will definitely have wonderful memories to take back home after you finish our course!
Wishing you good health and a happy life, and looking forward to meeting you,
Director, Patanjali Institute
